*The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, 2025, passed by the Parliament on 21^st*** August 2025, marks a landmark move to shield citizens from the menace of online money games while promoting and regulating other kinds of online games. This legislation is designed to curb addiction, financial ruin and social distress caused by predatory gaming platforms that thrive on misleading promises of quick wealth. It reflects the Government’s resolve to safeguard families while guiding the digital economy towards safe and constructive growth.

Online games related to gambling are quite popular. Through this, betting and gambling are also becoming quite popular today. Such games not only harm the player, but also cause him a lot of mental tension. Expressing concern over this, the central government has passed a bill ‘Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill’ from the Parliament in this monsoon session.

Now soon this bill will be sent to the President. After his signature, when the bill becomes a law, all online gaming related to money can be banned. After the law is passed, people will not be able to download such ‘gaming apps’ from Google Play Store. If this law is passed by both the houses, then people will benefit a lot from it. A provision of fine up to one crore and three years of imprisonment has been made for those who operate such gaming apps. Along with this, those who provide transaction facility in the game will also be imprisoned for three years with a fine of one crore. There is also a provision of two years’ imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50 lakh for star and popular players who advertise online gaming apps. The Government of India says that it will encourage free e-sports and social gaming in place of this online game. The government’s objective is to save the society from ruin and also to stop the continuous suicides. Such online games are like drugs. Once addicted, it becomes difficult to get rid of it. After the ban on this, the country’s young generation will get freedom from earning money through shortcuts.

Cooperation of the opposition is necessary instead of opposition

The political character is in favor of arbitrary system 22 in Indian democracy, less of improving the system. If this were not so, then considering the nation supreme, all political parties would want to see the country prosperous with pure honesty and would make serious efforts to improve the election system. Instead of opposing the improvement in the voter lists, they would cooperate vigilantly in the revision of voter lists, so that there would be no possibility of any kind of irregularity in fair and transparent elections.

The truth is that by making statements contrary to facts, the only work of some people is to create obstacles in election reforms. Such people are hell-bent on doing politics of lies and deceit by ignoring the problems of the common man and intimidating them. If the elements who show mental narrowness in elections on the basis of regionalism, casteism and languageism will play the game of religious alliance in the election field, then how will they like nationalism? In such a situation, it has become even more necessary that the constitutional institutions, intellectuals and unbiased public of the country should seriously think together for one country, one election and revised voter list in every election, so that the disruptive designs of the elements doing selfish politics can be destroyed.

Hope of change after ‘Supreme’ order

The recent decision of the Supreme Court to remove dogs from the roads is commendable. All the state governments should seriously pay attention to the animal birth control law. A few days ago, the Supreme Court had expressed concern over the problems caused by stray dogs biting people and deaths due to rabies. It is surprising and astonishing that the Supreme Court of the country had to give orders on the problem of stray dogs in the country. After this, stray dogs were caught from many areas and taken to shelter homes.

3 Animal lovers protested calling it cruelty on mute animals. Now the Supreme Court has ordered to release the dogs in the same areas from where they were caught after vaccination and sterilization of rabies. It has also been said that dogs should not be fed in public places. However, the state governments should not worry but think about the problems caused to the common people by stray dogs. The media also shows seriousness towards this problem and tries to wake up the government and administration from their Kumbhakarani sleep by making it an issue, but they do not show seriousness. Now it has to be seen how much change can be seen in the situation after the order of the Supreme Court.
