If you want to spend time amidst nature with the feeling of religion and spirituality, then come to Jamunihai situated on the border of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. In this village located near Chitrakoot Dham, there is Amaravati Ashram, the place of penance of King Ambrish in the forest of Tikaria, near the Payaswini river and Shabri waterfall. Just seven kilometers away from Shabri waterfall in Jamunihai village of Chitrakoot district, the view of Shabri waterfall is visible at two levels.

Kilm away in the forest of Tikaria in Uttar Pradesh, there is Amaravati Ashram, the place of penance of King Ambrish. This ashram is also mentioned in Ramayana. Shabri waterfall and Amravati Ashram hold an important place in the spiritual stories of Treta Yuga. Shabri waterfall is formed by the meeting of the water stream of Payaswini river coming from Sarabhanga and the local Gajiha Nala. This waterfall is formed by the water stream flowing from a height of about 40 feet. This same water stream falls again into a pond further ahead. This is called the two-tier Shabri waterfall. The story of Shabri (nature)
- Early life and education:
Shabri was born in a poor tribal family. She gained knowledge from Rishi Matang and became his disciple.
- Waiting for Lord Rama:
After Rishi Matang’s death, Shabri kept collecting berries in the forest to see Lord Rama. She first tasted the berries herself and kept only the sweet berries in her hut to feed the Lord.
- Meeting with Rama:
When Lord Rama and Lakshmana reached Shabri’s hut while searching for Sita, Shabri lovingly fed them the chewed berries. Pleased with Shabri’s love and sacrifice, Rama imparted her the knowledge of ‘Navdha Bhakti’.

- Attainment of salvation:
Pleased with Shabri’s immense devotion, Lord Rama granted her the boon of salvation. Shabri attained the supreme abode by burning herself in the fire of yoga and merged into the feet of Lord Rama.

6-7 km from Atri Ashram. There is a beautiful place called Amaravati in the forest. Amaravati is the place of penance of King Ambrish, the ancestor of Shri Ram. Shri Ram had rested here. At a little distance from this place, Viradha had attacked Shri Ram.

Amaravati Ashram located near Tikaria village of Chitrakoot is a historical and religious place, where according to the belief, Shri Ram had worshipped his ancestor Maharaj Amrish while returning from exile. This ashram is still a center of devotion, where a large number of devotees reach for darshan on festivals.
