New Delhi : China has assured to take positive steps on India’s three major economic demands. These include eliminating obstacles in the supply of fertilizers, restoring the supply of rare earth magnets and starting the import of tunnel boring machines required for infrastructure projects. This assurance was given by China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi in a meeting with India’s Foreign Minister S Jaishankar on Monday. India and China met in New Delhi under the leadership of both the foreign ministers. It discussed increasing economic cooperation.

After the US Trump administration’s decision to ban imports from many countries including China and India in April 2025, China also implemented strict policies. China first banned the export of rare earth magnets and other ‘rare metals’ and then also restricted the export of large machinery. China also started discouraging exporters regarding fertilizers, the most affected of which was

China stopped supplying fertilizers as well as rare earth magnets to India in April.

India is completely dependent on China for heavy machinery, China had limited its export.

Jaishankar on a visit to strengthen India-Russia relations

New Delhi: Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar left for Moscow on Tuesday for a three-day visit to further strengthen the partnership between India and Russia. This visit is considered important amid growing tensions between India and the US. During this, the India-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission will also meet in Moscow. There is also a possibility of talks on the Ukraine war and energy relations.

India and China agree to resolve border dispute and build mutual trust

The 24th Special Representative level talks were held between India and China to resolve the border dispute. On Tuesday, this meeting was chaired by NSA Ajit Doval and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. This is the second such meeting in eight months.

Policy on Taiwan has not changed: India

India has clarified that there has been no change in its policy regarding Taiwan. This clarification came when after the meeting of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar, a statement issued by China said that India has accepted Taiwan as a part of China. Sources said- “Our policy regarding Taiwan has not changed. We want to tell that like other countries of the world, India also has economic, technological and cultural relations with Taiwan. India wants to continue this in future as well.’ India officially believes that the Chinese government represents the whole of China and that Taiwan is also part of China. India and Taiwan have informal relations which focus on economic and technical cooperation. The foreign ministers of India and China have met three times so far. Prime Minister Modi will also visit China at the end of this month. Experts believe that the way the Trump administration has adopted a strategy to put pressure on India, the contact between India and China has increased.

After the meeting in Russia, China has opened the way for Indian pilgrims to go to Mansarovar and India has started giving visas to Chinese citizens.

India and China agree to resolve border dispute

The meeting between Doval and Chinese Foreign Minister at the special representative level to find a permanent solution to the Sopya dispute between India and China was not an important step after the year 2019 but this is the second meeting in the last eight months. Doval said that the consensus reached after the meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Kazan, Russia last October has given a new direction to both the countries. He also said that there has been peace on the border for the last nine months and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval meets Chinese Foreign Minister Bag Yi while leaving Hyderabad House in Delhi.

Wang Yi also met PM Narendra Modi on Tuesday evening. Regarding this, PM Modi wrote on the internet media that, it was a pleasure to meet Foreign Minister Wang Yi. After meeting President Xi in Kazan last year, there has been a lot of progress in the relations between India and China. A lot of progress has been made.

This has given both the countries an opportunity to progress in various fields. The NSA informed that PM Modi is going to visit China soon.

Wang Yi thus acknowledged that the disruptions in relations between the two countries in recent years were not in the interest of either side. He said that

In which both the countries have taken care of each other’s interests and sensitivities. I look forward to my next meeting with him in Tianjin. Stable and constructive relations between India and China will greatly contribute to global peace and prosperity.
