This can make it difficult for America to challenge China in Asia. She said that America’s enemy is China, not India. In such a situation, there is no reason to treat India like China. She has warned that relations between Washington and New Delhi are on the verge of breaking, and in view of China’s growing global ambitions, America will have to bring relations with India back on track. In an article written in Newsweek magazine, Haley said that India’s support is essential to maintain peace in Asia. Trump’s Republican ally Nikki Haley may have been a supporter of Trump in the 2024 presidential race, but she is quite vocal against his policies.

He wrote that for the Trump administration to achieve its foreign policy goals, nothing is more important than getting the US-India relations back on track. He warned that disrupting the momentum of the last 25 years of relations with India by imposing tariffs on it would be a strategic tragedy. He wrote that the US can also benefit from India’s growing influence in the Middle East because by deepening relations with India, the US will have to spend less of its resources in keeping that region peaceful and stable. He wrote that it should not be forgotten that like Israel, India is also a big arms buyer of the US.

Trump will not be able to win India’s trust even if he removes the tariffs:

He said that due to Trump’s move, the unity of the BRICS countries has become stronger than before and India has become closer to Russia and China. In an interview given to Crystal Ball and Sagar Angeli’s Breaking Point show, Professor Sachs said that imposing tariffs on India is not a strategy, but a conspiracy to harm relations with the most important partner in Asia. Columbia University Professor Sachs said that the impact of Trump’s tariffs will be far-reaching and will last for a long time.

The strengthening of BRICS will work against American strategic interests. America was deepening its strategic and diplomatic relations with a country like India, but Trump ruined all those efforts overnight by going after India. He warned that even if America removes the 25 percent tariff imposed on India, it will not make any difference because India has learned a lesson about America that you cannot trust America. Sachs also added that nothing remarkable was achieved from Trump’s tariffs. Rather, the global alliance will become stronger.

American Embassy exposes Trump’s lie on USAID funding

Accusing anyone for his political interests is not a new thing for American President Donald Trump. In February 2025, he had accused the US agency UPSED of spending $21 million to increase voter turnout in India, which was also false. His lies were exposed by none other than the US Embassy. ‘US stance on oil purchase is surprising’

Foreign Minister S Jaishankar, who visited Russia, made it clear that India is not going to bow down to US pressure on the issue of buying oil. Jaishankar first met Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and later he also met President Vladimir Putin. In both these meetings, Jaishankar’s agenda of expanding India-Russia energy cooperation was discussed.

After meeting with Lavrov, Jaishankar expressed surprise at the US stance of pressuring India to buy oil and revealed that the US itself has been asking India to buy oil from Russia first, so that there is stability in the global petroleum market. On the other hand, Lavrov said that Foreign Minister S Jaishankar with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov in Moscow.

Russia is working on major energy cooperation with India. This includes everything from nuclear energy to petroleum projects. There has also been talk of allocating oil and gas reserves in Russia to Indian oil companies.

Jaishankar was asked by a journalist about the tariffs imposed by the US on India for buying oil from Russia.

To this he replied, I do not want to comment on any individual. But, I will definitely speak on the subject. We are not the biggest buyer of Russian oil. That position belongs to China. We are also not the biggest buyer of Russian LNG. I think it is the European Union. According to Pretr, India and Russia have resolved to increase their bilateral trade.
